We
utilize Bovigen Gene Star Testing on our Herd Bulls.
If you are not familiar with the Bovigen company - the do Genetic Testing in cattle. The traits that are most
used by cattlemen are Feed Efficiency, Tenderness and Marbling. They also test for Homozygous Black Genes and Parentage/ Sire
Trace.
At this time we have chosen to test our bulls. This way we know what they are adding
to the herd. Eventually, we hope to start testing cows a couple at a time.
